Janice Campbell - Therapy Dog Prep
Like many young girls, Janice developed a love of ponies. Janice became an
avid equestrian, spending 16 years training and competing show horses. She
learned all there was to know about horse husbandry and joy of riding. She
spent years in the ring competing and was selected to ride on the U.S.
Junior Olympic Equestrian Team.
In 2004, Janice adopted Ellie, a full-of-life (gross understatement) Golden
Retriever who, because of her energy, had been through 4 homes before
finding the right one. Together they started taking WonderDogs classes,
which included Terrible Teens, rally, agility and canine musical freestyle.
Janice's passion of canine training and bringing out the best in dogs fully
emerged.
Professionally, Janice started as a veterinary technician then started her
own professional pet sitting business 28 years ago. Her career for the past
18 years has been in the mental health field. One of her areas of expertise
is providing trauma focused cognitive behavior therapy to children in
residential group homes with her canine partners. Her combined interest in
helping others and working with dogs lead her to Tri-State Canine Response
Team, where she serves as President and Co-Founder. Additionally, Janice is
certified in animal assisted therapy, animal assisted crisis response, and
is a Disaster Relief Crisis Counselor for the State of NJ.
She is dedicated to giving back by utilizing her professional expertise and
knowledge of the healing power of dogs to help others.
